COMPANY HISTORY

 

Founded 10 years ago by Mark Andrews, as 3M4x4, the company has grown and gone from strenghth to strength in its field of manufacturing offroad racing vehicles. Originally focusing on the Land Rover model which was customised for offroad racing whilst another development was the 3M Special which has since been modified and completely re-designed.

 

The arrival of Roy Taylor in 2004, saw the development and expansion of the company's involvement in roll cage design. With a background in racing and building performance cars, Roy's work in roll cage design is second to none.  Much of the equipment needed to construct and build any model is made in-house to very exacting and high specifications. With an outstanding record in providing custom designed roll cages, the company is a leader in its design of offroad vehicles.

 

The range now encompasses the AT Special, a very versatile and nippy offroad racer and the Freelander Special which share the same chassis and independent suspension set-up. Both vehicles being mid-engine, with the option of BMW, Ford or Rover V8 engines. All backup support and services are offered with the vehicles and the workmanship is guaranteed. Both vehicles can be supplied in kit form if required.

 

As well as the manufacture of the Specials, the company has the facility to fit V8 engines in an array of road cars from a small compact to a high performance vehicle. Manifolds to go with the new engine are designed and fitted in-house.

 

The company had a re-vamp with the new partnership of Andrews and Taylor and A&T4x4 was born in January 2006 and many new ventures are in the pipeline. The development of a budget offroad racer is being planned for the future. Further enhancements to the Specials as technology advances. The launch of a brand new company website, outlining the progress and development of new ideas and projects.

 

ABOUT US:

The range starts at the basic 80" arc and 88" arc motors. Also available are 100" and 104" rear engine vehicles.

The workshops are fully equipped with the latest C&C mandrell bending machines and ring rolling equipment. Full rally car shell preparation is also available. We also produce one off roll cages and custom exhausts, professionally designed and constructed on site, with Land Rover cages and shells being our speciality.
